Dr. Ming Wang, President of the Lady Up America Founders Club

Nobody appreciates freedom in America more than Dr. Ming Wang. He is the epitome of the American Dream after narrowly escaping labor camp for life in socialist/communist China, His wisdom and experiences have been instrumental in helping Diane to shape this movement.

 

Dr. Ming Wang, Harvard & MIT (MD, magna cum laude); Ph.D. (laser physics), is a world-class cataract and LASIK eye surgeon, philanthropist, and community activist. He is the founding director of the internationally known Wang Vision Institute, Nashville, TN, USA. Dr. Wang invented and patented the amniotic membrane contact lens and it has now been utilized by thousands of surgeons around the world, resulting in the restoration of sight for millions of people.

Dr. Wang’s inspiring autobiography about escaping the Chinese Cultural Revolution as a teen, From Darkness to Sight, has inspired a major movie called “Sight”, which will be released soon. The film co-stars Hollywood Actor, Greg Kinnear, best known for his famous roles in As Good As It Gets, You've Got Mail, and Heaven Is For Real.

Dr. Wang and Dr. Rice Broocks decided to co-found Common Ground Network. Pastor Broocks has been a good friend of Dr. Wang’s for 23 years. He is a co-founder of Every Nation Worldwide Ministry, which has churches in over 80 countries, and the author of many influential books including God’s Not Dead, which has inspired one of the most successful Christian movies in history. In the movie, the Chinese student’s character was inspired by Dr. Wang’s life story.

The Common Ground techniques are interwoven in Diane's teaching on the Lady Up America APP, with some classes being taught by Dr. Wang directly.

Dr. Wang has received numerous awards including the Honor Award of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Association of Chinese American Physicians, an honorary doctorate degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, NPR’s Philanthropist of the Year Award, and Kiwanis Nashvillian of the Year Award for his lifetime dedication to helping blind orphan children from around the world.

The Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration, a 501c(3) non-profit charity founded by Dr. Wang, has helped patients from over 40 states in the U.S. and 55 countries worldwide, with all sight restoration surgeries performed free-of-charge.
