Don't Chicken Out! Your Personal Testimony Can Open a Heart to Jesus
Have you chickened out of sharing your testimony for fear of what someone may learn about you? I sure have!
For years, I was very tight-lipped about what I had been through. I thought I was the ONLY one.
Nowadays, I share it openly and transparently. I've even written my testimony in books and shared it on camera.
What changed?
Well, that's what I'm covering in today's episode because I have come to see that the most powerful tool we have in winning people to Jesus in these last days is our personal testimony!!!
If somebody has never walked even one mile in your shoes, you blow off their "advice". But if somebody has been through something you're going through, they've emerged with the battle scars to prove it, and they're willing to give you the escape route...yeah, you're listening then.
What to guard and what to reveal?
You don’t need to disclose every painful detail. Vulnerability comes with boundaries: protect others’ privacy, avoid graphic retelling that distracts from Jesus, and skip self-justifying tangents. Vulnerability with a purpose is brave; vulnerability for attention is self-indulgent.
Fear of being judged is real. We ask ourselves, "What will they think when they know 'that'?"
But let's ask a new question: "Lord, what will You think if I chicken out of what you've commanded me to do?"
The goal is not to be liked but to be useful — a living map others can follow.
If your scar has a story, consider sharing the part that gives someone else a way out. That’s how a heart opens.
On this week's show, I'll give you some simple steps on:
WHAT to share - How to identify patterns in your battle scars to begin to craft your best testimony.
HOW to share it - What parts to leave in, what to take out
WHEN to share it - Appropriate people, places, and moments
